Meet the Owners

For the Kids Day Care is proudly owned and operated by Janis and David, who have been married since 1981. Born and raised in Santa Clara, they have resided in San Jose since 1981. They are deeply committed to serving families in the community they call home. Together, they have raised three children—one daughter and two sons—and bring the same love, care, and family values to every child they welcome into their daycare.

Janis

Janis founded For the Kids Day Care in 1986 after recognizing the growing need for high-quality childcare in a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. For nearly four decades, she has been dedicated to helping young children learn, grow, and build a strong foundation for lifelong success.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Photography and an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has also applied for her Certificate of Achievement in Early Childhood Education and Certificate of Achievement in Program Director Specialization. Janis is CPR and First Aid certified.

Her passion is inspiring creativity through art while fostering a love of learning through hands-on educational experiences. She believes every child deserves a warm, stable, and loving environment where they can develop confidence, curiosity, and the skills needed for a successful transition to kindergarten.

David

David brings more than 19 years of childcare experience, along with the invaluable experience of raising three children of his own. He has completed more than 40 units of Early Childhood Education coursework.  He is CPR and First Aid certified.

David enjoys introducing children to the wonders of science and nature through fun, hands-on activities that encourage exploration, discovery, and critical thinking. His goal is to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, build confidence, and help children develop a lifelong love of learning.
